Campfire Cuisine: Part 1 - Bananas & Bacon


Bananas and Bacon on BBQ

Bananas and bacon have always been one of our family favorites and although our BBQ guests often react with surprise when served with it we think it has a better love- hate ratio than Marmite!


Simple & quick to make this sweet and salty treat is a campfire cuisine classic!


Ingredients:

- 4 ripe bananas

- 8 slices of bacon

- Toothpicks or skewers


Instructions:

1. Preheat your BBQ to medium-high heat.


2. Peel the bananas and cut them in half crosswise.


3. Wrap each banana half with a slice of bacon, securing it with a toothpick.


4. Place the bacon-wrapped bananas on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until the bacon is crispy and the bananas are heated through.


5. Remove from the grill and let cool slightly before serving.


6. Enjoy your delicious bananas wrapped in bacon as a sweet and savory BBQ treat!
